Gen Net Training

Today has been an interesting day at the GISD. I got to see Marty Jennings today. I also saw him on Monday here at the GISD. We talked a lot about Kathy and what things have happened in Marshall and Battle Creek since her death.

We talked about how the community has created a scholarship fund for students going into music to help pay for college.

We talked about how the community turned down the millage to build the new school, but because of the Superintendent they did not pass it.

Many new and interesting things each day come about because of what Kathy did for students and teachers in Marshall. I pray that what happened to her turns into a positive thing for the community of Battle Creek and Marshall.

Kathy

This blog was originally set up because Kathy wanted us to be able to write down memories about dad, so that when his death came we would be able to share memories. However, Kathy had no idea she would precede dad in death. So I believe that we should add memories about Kathy here.

I will start with the first one: I got this from one of the students in her classroom. She was teaching class and a fax came through and she was laughing so hard she had to get a hold of herself to explain what happened. One of the music teachers sent a fax to her. The same teacher had sent her an email earlier letting her know that she would be faxing the registration for festival. The fax contained a check to pay for the schools registration for festival. She couldn't stop laughing. This was a great memory to share with all of you.

Love,

Karen

Hey all

I got to talk to Marty Jennings today. He and I talked for a while this morning and he was telling me all about his new job at the GISD. GOt lots of great information. He talked about how he remembered me being assigned to Josh to watch him while rehearsals were going on and how I used to chase him all around the aunditorium.

TOoo Funny. He asked me how long I had been teaching and I told him 16 years. He told me that I made him feel old. His daughter is a Senior @ Floride State and that He has a son at Central and a son in the Whittier Classical Academy.

Wow how time flies.

Keep Up The Posts

Hey all!
It seems we have all let this blog just waste away. I am going to make it a point to write in it a least once a week. Dad has had a rough week. He is very tired and there were a couple of days where he didn't even get out of bed.

We took him and mom out the day after Valentines Day. He enjoyed, but was very tired when all was over. You all need to call and talk to him, even if he can be irritating when he is in a grouchy mood. He so would like to hear from everyone.

Hope you all have a blessed week.

Karen
